Isle of Man Orienteering Klubb is hosting a 'Free Order' Orienteering Event at South Barrule Forest on Easter Monday, April 6, 2026. This family-friendly orienteering activity is suitable for all ages, allowing participants to find as many controls as possible within one hour. The event features a mass start and is open to families, individuals, and groups. Participants can choose to walk, jog, or run, and should wear appropriate clothing and footwear for the weather conditions.

Isle of Man Orienteering Klubb - Easter Monday 'Free Order' Orienteering Event at South Barrule Forest.
Easter Monday 6th April 2026.
Family friendly orienteering activity suitable for all ages.
• Find as many controls as you can in 1 hour!
• Mass START.
• Activity suitable for Families, Individuals & Groups.
• Your choice to Walk, Jog or Run.
• Wear suitable clothing and footwear for weather conditions & time of year.
• Children must be under the supervision of an adult.
• Compass is optional, to assist with navigation.
Registration time: 9:30am - 10:20am.
Mass START at 10:30am.
Participants must return to the finish within 1 hour to avoid a time penalty! All participants must report to the finish by 11:30am at the latest even if they do not complete their course.
Orienteering Maps supplied - Cost: Adult: £4.00. Youth under 18yrs: £1.50. Family (2 Adults & Children under 18yrs): £8.00 (max) (Note: Additional adults in family group pay adult fee). Cash only payment.
Free Order Course: Various Categories - SOLO: male / female / youth. GROUP: adult / family / youth.
Registration, Start & Finish Area: Beside the main South Barrule forest car parking area just off the A36 road (registration signposted).
Event Activity –
You have 1 hour to locate as many of the orange & white control flags marked on your map and pin-punch your scorecard to prove that you have visited each location. You can navigate to control flags in whatever order you choose, but remember you are penalised if you return late!
