Laa Boaldyn, or Manx May Day, is celebrated with a full day of music, making, and storytelling. This event marks the start of summer with live Manx music, traditional dancing, and hands-on crafts that are rooted in island folklore. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about how May Day was celebrated in the past and its significance today. Participants can also engage in making Croish Cuirns, a traditional Manx charm, which was an important part of May Day customs.

Mark the start of summer with live Manx music, traditional dancing and hands-on crafts rooted in island folklore. Learn how May Day was celebrated in the past and why it still matters today.
Have a go at making Croish Cuirns, a traditional Manx charm hung on doors and gates to protect homes and livestock from mischievous fairies. This simple craft was a key part of May Day customs and is suitable for all ages.
Manx folklore and springtime traditions will be shared throughout the day, bringing old stories and beliefs to life.
