Manx BirdLife – Nocturnal Nature - 29th April, 2026

Manx BirdLife invites participants to enjoy an evening of exploration during the Nocturnal Nature event. Attendees will listen to the dusk bird chorus, observe bats, and discover the magical world of moths through the use of a light trap. The event will start and finish at Herring Tower Car Park and will cover approximately 2 miles on grass paths, with some uneven terrain. Participants are advised to bring a torch and wear walking shoes. Binoculars and bat detectors will be available to borrow.

Listen to the dusk bird chorus, be on the lookout for bats and discover the magical world of moths as we put out a light trap and investigate what has flown in. Approx. 2 mile walk on grass paths with some uneven terrain. Bring a torch; walking shoes are recommended. Binoculars and bat detectors available to borrow but you are welcome to bring your own. Not suitable for wheelchairs. Hot drinks and biscuits provided during the moth trap investigation.
